^ Top of page PRACTICE NURSES AND HEALTH CARE ASSISTANTS We employ 2 Practice Nurses who carry out many routine consultations with patients (e.g. cervical smears, blood pressure checks, asthma, diabetes and healthy heart checks, travel immunisations, HRT, contraception checks, etc) and a nurse practitioner who carries out triage. Please DO NOT attend the Practice Nurse for acute problems. In addition to our nurses we also employ Health Care Assistants, who carry out tasks such as taking bloods, ECGs etc. We encourage patients to attend the nurse or HCAs where appropriate. NURSE PRACTITIONERS Responsibilities are first point of contact for triage (pre-treatment assessment) of minor injuries and illnesses also running clinics for minor injuries and ailments, treatment of minor injury procedures, prescribing and self help advice. ^ Top of page The Practice Managers have overall
responsibility for the administration of the Practice. The
administration staff deal with appointments, repeat prescriptions,
